Lawn Care & Landscaping Services in Aldie, VA
Mowing, landscaping, aeration, mulch, and seasonal cleanups for homes and properties with Aldie addresses, including the newer communities along Route 50. Provided by The Blade Lawn Care, based in Leesburg.
One Name, Two Very Different Places
When someone says they live in Aldie, they could mean one of two places. The Aldie mailing area, ZIP code 20105, covers much more ground than the historic village it is named after, and the properties in each part need different kinds of care.
The historic village
The village of Aldie sits where Route 50 crosses the Little River, in the gap between the Catoctin and Bull Run Mountains. Its grist mill dates to the early 1800s, and the area around it is a historic district on the National Register. The hills nearby are still mostly rural, with older homes, open land, and wooded edges.
Properties out here tend to need mowing on open ground, trimming along fences and driveways, and seasonal cleanups to clear leaves and branches from wooded borders.
The newer 20105 communities
East of the village, the Aldie mailing area includes large planned communities such as Stone Ridge, Willowsford, and Kirkpatrick Farms. This part of Aldie grew fast: the ZIP code’s population rose roughly 569% between 2000 and 2014, and new sections are still being built.
Most homes here are newer, many on generous lots, so the focus is on getting younger lawns established with aeration and overseeding, keeping larger yards on a steady mowing schedule, and filling in landscaping around the house.
The Blade Lawn Care is based in Leesburg and provides residential lawn care, landscaping, and commercial grounds maintenance in the Aldie area. Read more about our company or browse all of our services.
Lawn Care for Newer Homes on Bigger Lots
More lawn, same growing season
A bigger lawn grows just as fast as a small one in spring, so falling a week behind leaves more ground to catch up on. A set weekly or biweekly mowing schedule keeps height even across the whole yard.
Open, sunny yards
Wide, open yards with few mature trees get full sun, so they feel summer heat early. Mowing a little higher helps the grass shade its own roots, and fall aeration and overseeding thickens areas that thin out over summer.
Yards that border woods and open space
Many Aldie-area lots back up to trails, woods, or open space. The line where lawn meets natural ground needs regular string trimming, and leaves and branches blowing in from wooded edges make spring and fall cleanups worth scheduling.
Landscaping That Fits a Larger Property
A larger home on a bigger lot can look unfinished when the landscaping is scaled for a much smaller yard. A couple of foundation shrubs and a narrow strip of mulch get lost against a wide front lawn.
Our landscaping services can build out beds that are sized to the house, add shrubs and plants, and use decorative rock where it makes sense. Larger beds also mean more ground to cover, so mulch installation becomes a bigger yearly job, and tree and plant services cover planting and care for trees as the property fills in.
Many Aldie-area communities have their own association guidelines for exterior changes, so check yours before a new landscaping project starts.

Sau and his team did an incredible job fully renovating my lawn. They dethatched, core aerated, and leveled the yard, then put down a full layer of top dressing. They started the new lawn with seed and starter fertilizer, and finished it off with a layer of compost. They were thorough, professional, and worked extremely hard from start to finish. Before hiring them, I got quotes from several companies in the area — they came back as the most recommended and reasonably priced of the bunch. Highly recommend for anyone looking to fully renovate their lawn.Posted on Google![]()

Sau did an amazing job with my front lawn! From the start, his communication was excellent. He guided me on picking the right tree and even offered to pick it up from the nursery since it wouldn’t fit in my car. He arrived on time and did a perfect job installing the tree and adding river rocks, which completely transformed the look of my yard. My lawn went from looking plain and overgrown to polished and beautiful. I really appreciated his attention to detail. He made sure the tree was facing the right direction and had a great eye for aesthetics. He even went above and beyond by clearing out weeds, which wasn’t something I expected but made a huge difference. Sau is reliable, professional, and clearly takes pride in his work. The price was very fair for the amount of effort and care he put in. Neighbors have already stopped by to compliment how nice everything looks. I couldn’t be happier with the result. Highly recommend the Blade Lawn Care and would definitely use their services again.Posted on Google![]()
